Facts about yogurt

Yogurt is one of many healthy drinks. This beverage is one of the products of fermentation. Yogurt made from milk that is fermented with two types of lactic acid bacteria, namely Streptococcus thermophilus and Thermobacterium bulgarius. Yogurt can be made from cow's milk, goat's or soy extract that added with acid bacteria to change the form of a lactose into simple carbohydrate.

Yogurt can be used by people who have digestive problems with milk. People with limited enzyme to digest lactose or lactose intolerance will be very helpful with the yogurt. Because, people who have lactose intolerance problems will experience symptoms of nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea after consuming milk. Hence the activity of lactic acid bacteria in yogurt, the lactose in the milk will be degraded so as not to cause problems for people with lactose intolerance.

We recognize three types of yogurt, namely:
1. Stirred yogurt
Yogurt is added gelatin during manufacture and mixing done to achieve a homogeneous and soft.
2. Firm Yogurt
This form of yogurt a solid form. This yogurt is fermented, but it was still natural like milk.
3. In the form of yogurt drinks
This form of yogurt can be consumed directly. Consists of a variety of flavors is the addition of fruit syrup.

For this reason, yogurt drinks can become part of our healthy food and daily life. Whether in the form of soft drinks and that was added in the healthy recipes. Eat yogurt is also good to keep the body fresh. Content of nutrients in yogurt is very important to health because it contains various substances such as vitamin D, protein, calcium and good bacteria for healthy digestion.
